The US-British strike on Yemen on Friday was condemned by several countries.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “We strongly condemn the military attacks launched by the United States and the United Kingdom this morning on several Yemeni cities,” noting that “these attacks will only fuel a state of insecurity and instability in the region.”
He added: “The military attacks come in line with America and Britain’s continued support for war crimes committed by the Zionist regime.”
For her part, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced that Moscow condemns the American and British strikes on Yemen, calling for preventing escalation.
Zakharova said in a press conference on Friday that Moscow condemns the American and British strikes on Yemen.
She added: “On the night of January 12, the so-called international coalition, which should be called the illegal coalition led by the United States and Britain, carried out missile attacks and bombings on a number of targets in sovereign Yemeni territory.”
Russia also requested an emergency session in the UN Security Council against the backdrop of the strikes launched by the United States and Britain on Yemen.
The Telegram channel of the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations reported on Friday that “Russia has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on December 12 regarding the American and British strikes on Yemen.”
In turn, the Sultanate of Oman confirmed that it has repeatedly warned of the expansion of the circle of conflict and confrontation in the region as a result of the ongoing Zionist aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the killing, abuse, destruction and starvation operations against civilians and residents in the Gaza Strip.
The Omani Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “The Sultanate of Oman is following with great concern the developments of the American-British bombing that affected several cities in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, and it can only denounce the resort to this military action by friendly countries, while the Zionist entity persists in its bombing, brutal war, and siege of the Gaza Strip without Reckoning or punishment.
The Sultanate of Oman reiterated its position “calling for just and comprehensive peace in order to achieve security and stability in the region and reviving growth and prosperity for all,” calling on “all parties to stop the escalation and military operations and focus on addressing the root and real causes of the crisis.”
