The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, and the Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, stressed today, Friday, the importance of forming local councils according to a vision consistent with the government’s approach.
Mr. Al-Hakim said, according to a statement from his media office received by the (INA): “This morning, we received Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali, Secretary-General of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq movement, and we exchanged views on developments in the political scene, upcoming entitlements, and ways to support the government in implementing its program and providing services.”
According to the statement, the two parties praised “the success of the local elections,” appreciating “the positions and efforts that were made to make them successful, most notably the position of the government, the commission, and the security services.”
They stressed, “the importance of forming local councils according to a service vision that is consistent with the government’s approach, with the necessity of empowering competent and honest personalities to manage the governorates.”
Regarding the Palestinian issue, Mr. Al-Hakim and Sheikh Al-Khazali renewed the call for “a ceasefire, an end to human suffering, and the opening of crossings,” calling on the countries of the world to “assume their responsibilities towards the ongoing genocide of a defenseless and besieged people, the majority of whom are women and children.”
