The President of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, praised the level presented by the men’s and women’s cross-country teams in the Asian Championship.
A statement by the National Olympic Committee received by the (INA) stated, “The President of the Olympic Committee received the President of the Iraqi Cross Football Federation, Abdul Wahab Ghazi, members of the Board of Directors, and the players of the Iraqi National Cross Football Team, and Muften praised the Iraqi Cross Football teams’ victory in first place in the Asian Championship in The men’s and women’s competitions, which were held about two weeks ago in India.”
He added: “For his part, Ghazi appreciated the remarkable role of Muftin and his colleagues in the Executive Office, despite the short period of his work, wishing them success in leading the National Olympic work and striving to improve the performance and results of Iraqi athletes in high-achievement sport events.”
