Qatar surpasses Lebanon by 3 clean goals at the opening of the Asian Cup »

Today, Friday, Qatar, the defending champion and tournament host, defeated the Lebanese national team with a score of (3-0) in the opening of the Asian Cup at Lusail Stadium in the first round of the first group competitions.

The first goal was scored by Akram Afif in the 45th minute after a pass from Almoez Ali.
Al-Moez himself added the second goal when he headed up Mohamed Waad’s lofted ball accurately in the 56th minute.
Shortly before the end, Afif added the third for his country and the second for him personally with a distinguished individual effort of 90+6.
The opening match brought together two Arab teams for the fourth time after the 1980, 1984 and 2019 editions.
This is the eighth meeting between Qatar and Lebanon in international matches (Al-Anabi won 7 and only one match ended in a draw).
It is also the second Asian Cup confrontation between the two teams after Qatar’s 2-0 victory in the 2019 Asian Cup.
