Japanese media said that the earthquake killed 168 people, noting that there were 323 people with whom contact was lost.

It should be noted that a week after the earthquake, the extent of the destruction in the areas it struck is still not fully known, as a result of the destruction that struck roads and communication networks, specifically in the cities of Wajima and Suzu.

On the first day of 2024, a series of earthquakes occurred in the Noto Peninsula area of ​​Ishikawa Prefecture, one of which reached a magnitude of 7.6 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake resulted in the partial or complete destruction of more than 1,400 homes, and 59,000 families in Ishikawa Prefecture are still without water, and more than 15.5,000 families are without electricity.
