The military spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces announced the thwarting of a narcotic smuggling operation south of the Al-Awja border crossing with the Zionist entity, noting that as a result of the exchange of fire, one person was killed and 6 smugglers were arrested.
The spokesman said in a statement: “Within the framework of the action plan of the security elements responsible for securing the northeastern international border line, a narcotic smuggling operation was thwarted south of the Al-Awja port, amounting to approximately 174 kilograms of narcotic substances of various types.”
He added: “As a result of the exchange of fire, one person was killed, and 6 smugglers were arrested,” stressing “the full readiness of the Egyptian Armed Forces in order to preserve the capabilities of this great nation.”
In the same context, an Egyptian security source announced yesterday, Monday, the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle drugs on the border with the Zionist entity after clashes with a gang.
