The industry announces the imminent opening of the Baghdad battery factory and a plan to rehabilitate its factories

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced the imminent opening of the Baghdad battery factory, and while revealing the details of its plans to rehabilitate its factories, it confirmed the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the region to unify laws and decisions related to the industry.

Ministry Advisor Ammar Al-Janabi told the (INA), today, Monday, that, “Under the sponsorship and supervision of the Minister of Industry and Minerals, the Kubaisa Cement Factory was rehabilitated with a production capacity of 142 thousand tons per month, of resistant and ordinary cement.”
He added, “The factory’s production rate is 95% of the manufacturing capacity, as it operates using modern technologies,” stressing that “the factory was opened in Anbar Governorate in the presence of the Minister of Industry, the Deputy Governor, the Commander of Anbar Operations, the Advisor to the Ministry of Industry for Development Affairs, and the General Director of the Iraqi Cement Company.”
He pointed out that “the rest of the suspended laboratories will be opened within the plan drawn up for them,” stressing that “the rehabilitation plan for the ministry’s laboratories is working at an increasing pace.”
He explained, “There is a medium-term plan that has been started, and there is a plan to operate part of the suspended factories during the coming period,” pointing out that “the Ministry is working to prepare an appropriate plan to rehabilitate some factories in order to increase the efficiency of the local product and reduce its cost and its competition with foreigners.”
He pointed out that “the Ministry is moving towards using technological development in the work of factories, as there are equipment and products that are not sufficient for the purpose, as their marketing capacity is weak,” stressing that “the coming days will witness the opening of the Baghdad Battery Factory.”
Regarding the Kurdistan region, Al-Janabi confirmed that “a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Ministry of Industry in the region in order to unify laws and decisions,” pointing out that “there is a plan with the region to draw the industrial map in Iraq.”
