/ The Israeli army spokesman announced that the Hamas movement is holding about 215 hostages in the Gaza Strip.

Army spokesman Doron Spielman said: “There are still about 215 hostages in Gaza.”

Israeli reports stated that Hamas may release a large number of child hostages on Saturday.

The newspaper “ynet.co.il” quoted Israeli officials as saying that eight of the 13 hostages that Hamas is expected to release on Saturday are children.

On Friday, a four-day truce between the Israeli army and Hamas entered into force, and an agreement was reached through the mediation of Qatar and Egypt.

Under the agreement, 200 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid and four trucks loaded with fuel and household gas must enter the Gaza Strip daily.

The two sides agreed to stop hostilities for four days in order to exchange dozens of hostages and detainees. It is expected that 50 Israeli hostages will be exchanged for 150 Palestinian prisoners.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that the ceasefire in Gaza would be short-term, and then fighting in the Strip would continue for at least another two months.
