The Japanese Foreign Minister visits Kiev to discuss the reconstruction of Ukraine

The Japanese Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa will visit Kiev on Sunday to discuss the reconstruction of Ukraine and ways to achieve a “just and lasting peace.”

A statement issued by the ministry said: “Minister Kamikawa will visit Ukraine today and meet her Ukrainian counterpart, Dmitry Kuleba. Kamikawa will assure the Ukrainian side that Japanese policy to support Ukraine will remain unchanged, even despite the harsh international situation, and she will inform the Ukrainian side about the progress of Japanese aid and plans for that.”
The statement added that it will discuss the reconstruction of Ukraine and hold the Ukrainian-Japanese conference on economic reconstruction, which will be held in Tokyo on February 19, with the participation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
He continued: “The Japanese Foreign Minister will participate in a fair discussion with the Ukrainian partners of the necessary efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace and Japan’s capabilities to contribute to this process.”
He also indicated that Kamikawa would attend the ceremony of handing over heaters to Ukraine.
