/ The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced on Wednesday that it had directed 4 strikes against groups linked to Iran in recent days, killing 15 people.

A Pentagon official said: “We launched four strikes against Iranian groups in the region and eliminated 15 people recently, and we may not stop there.”

The official added: “We warn against any miscalculation that might lead to a military slide in the region, and we do not want that,” adding: “Washington reserves the right to respond and defend itself against any Iranian activity, including the Houthi group in Yemen.”

He continued: “We do not know the destination of the missile launched by the Houthis, and an investigation is underway to determine whether it was a bomb-laden drone,” pointing out that “an American warship intercepted a missile launched by the Houthis from inside Yemen off the Red Sea.”
