The President of the Federal Court reveals that the case of delayed payment of salaries in the region is being considered

Today, Sunday, the President of the Federal Supreme Court, Judge Jassim Muhammad Aboud Al-Amiri, stressed the necessity of finding a radical solution to the problem of the delay in distributing salaries to employees and retirees of the Kurdistan region, indicating that the court is examining a case in this regard, while he stressed in another matter that pornographic sites pose a danger to society, especially Youth.

Al-Amiri said to the (INA): “The court is currently examining a number of cases, including first the issue of salaries for employees and retirees of the Kurdistan region, which is a very important issue, and the Iraqi constitution affirmed in its 14th article that there must be equality of rights among Iraqis, and this equality requires that the The employee and retiree’s salary in the Kurdistan region, in terms of amount and timing, is the same as what their peers receive in the rest of Iraq.”
He added, “This requires that the employee in Zakho, for example, be treated with the same treatment as employees in Baghdad, Salah al-Din, Diyala, Maysan, and Basra, because the salary is the amount that secures people’s livelihood and preserves their dignity, and salaries cannot be allowed to be delayed.”
He stressed that the problems resulting from the regional government’s failure to implement what the budget law required should not be a reason for obstructing the receipt of salaries for employees and retirees in the region because they are part of the Iraqi people. The federal government must work to solve this problem and we consider this a national, social and humanitarian duty. I repeat, it must not Any problem between the federal government and the regional government will cause delay and obstruction and the two parties will not reach a radical solution.”
Al-Amiri stressed that “the second issue that the Federal Court is considering relates to blocking pornographic websites that have social harm, especially on Iraqi youth.”
He added, “These sites have been spreading for two decades, and procedures for blocking them in Iraq must be strengthened, because their negative impact has harmful effects on society, leading to family and social disintegration.”
