Syrian media reported hearing explosions in the sky of the Syrian capital, Damascus, as a result of Syrian air defenses responding to the missiles launched by the Zionist entity into Syria.
A military source said in a statement: “At approximately 01:20 a.m. today, the Zionist enemy carried out an air aggression from the direction of Lebanese territory, targeting a number of points in the vicinity of Damascus. Our air defense media intercepted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them, and the aggression resulted in some material losses.”
A Syrian military source said in another statement earlier today, commenting on the first attack: “At approximately 05:23 pm today, the Zionist enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the southern region. Our air defense media responded to the aggression’s missiles and shot down most of them.” The losses were limited to material losses.
Syria called on the United Nations and the Security Council yesterday “to bear responsibility and put an end to the aggressive Zionist policies that threaten to ignite the region and push it towards a comprehensive escalation that threatens regional and international peace and security.”
