The Spanish Football Federation announced the fine imposed on Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, following the events that took place in the last El Clásico against Real Madrid.
Barcelona lost to its rival, Real Madrid, 4-1, in the Spanish Super Cup final, last Sunday evening, at Al Awal Park Stadium in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The match witnessed Araujo’s expulsion in the 71st minute, after receiving a second yellow card, following a strong intervention against Vinicius Junior, the Real Madrid striker.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, the sports judge imposed a fine on Araujo of 600 euros, due to his expulsion in the final match, and also fined Barcelona 350 euros.
Araujo’s name has recently been linked to leaving for Bayern Munich and Manchester United next summer.
It is noteworthy that Barcelona renewed Araujo’s contract until the summer of 2026, with a penalty clause worth one billion euros.
