Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani announced the development of a plan to improve the status of Iraqi airports, and while he indicated that the government had taken several measures to facilitate the investment environment, he confirmed that the government had developed a plan to end gas burning in all oil fields.

The Prime Minister said during a dialogue session for Iraqi and Spanish businessmen in the presence of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at the government palace, and followed by the (INA): “There is a serious desire from Spanish companies to enter the Iraqi market, and reforming the economy is one of the government’s priorities,” noting. To “develop a road map for the strategic partnership between Iraq and Spain.”

He added, “We will take several preferential measures for Spanish companies to work in Iraq, as the presence of most Spanish companies in Iraq is a positive indicator,” indicating that “the path of development is one of the most important economic corridors linking Asia and Europe, and is not limited to the countries of the region.”

He pointed out that “the agricultural plan is being implemented on more than 5 million dunams,” stressing that “the government has taken several measures to facilitate the investment environment.”

He pointed out, “Iraq’s keenness to adhere to the agreements on double taxation and customs,” noting “the development of a plan to improve the reality of Iraqi airports.”

He continued, “Relying on oil is an incorrect option in light of price fluctuations,” noting that “there is an investment map and an international investment conference that will be held soon.”

He continued, “Iraq is a promising country with great opportunities, and we hope that the private sector will play a major role in it,” stressing, “Announcing the railway project between Holy Karbala, Najaf Al-Ashraf, and the Baghdad Metro within four months.”

He added, “We consider air defenses to be a priority and we seek digital transformation in all ministries,” noting that “the government pledged, through the budget law, to give a sovereign guarantee of up to 85 percent for any investment project.”

The Prime Minister stated that “the government is moving to end gas burning in all fields, as a plan has been drawn up to end gas burning in all fields,” noting that “the government is continuing to increase production and improve the reality of the electrical system in the country.”

He added, “The rehabilitation of the air base will be announced soon.”
