Yemen wins the West Asian Junior title »

On Wednesday evening, the Yemeni national team won the title of the West Asian Federation Football Championship for juniors under 17 years of age after defeating its Saudi counterpart on penalties.

The correspondent of the (INA) said: “The Yemeni national team was crowned this evening with the title of the West Asian Federation Football Championship for juniors under 17 years of age, following its victory in the final match over the Saudi national team by a penalty shootout difference (3/2), as The match, which was hosted by Al Saada Stadium in the city of Salalah, Oman, ended in its original time in a positive draw, 1/1.”
Our junior team was eliminated from the semi-finals of the tournament by its Saudi counterpart 2/1, while Yemen qualified at the expense of the UAE.”
Eight teams participated in the tournament, divided into two groups. The first included the teams of Yemen, Iraq, Oman, and Lebanon, while the second included the teams of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Syria, and Jordan.
