The Japanese national team achieved its first victory in the ongoing Asian Championship competitions in the Qatari capital, Doha, when it defeated its Vietnamese counterpart by four goals to two in the match that was held at Al Thumama Stadium and led by referee Jung Hyuk Kim.

The correspondent of the (INA) stated, “The Japanese team took the lead first in the 11th minute through its player (Takumi Minamino), but the Vietnam team equalized in the 16th minute through its player (Dinh Bac Nguyen).”
He added, “The Vietnamese team added their second goal in the 33rd minute through their player (Tuan Hai Pham), but the Japanese team rose up and scored two goals in the 45th and 3+45 minutes by (Takumi Minamino) and (Kaito Nakamura) to end the half.” The first is with Japan leading by three goals to two.”
He explained, “The Japanese team added the fourth goal in the 85th minute of the match, by its player (Ayase Ueda), to achieve its first victory and three points in the tournament.”
