Military discussions between Iraq and France in the field of developing combat capabilities

Today, Saturday, Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Mohammadawi, discussed with the Chief of Staff of the French Land Forces cooperation and coordination in the field of developing combat capabilities.

A statement by the Joint Operations Command, according to the Security Media Cell, received by the (INA), stated that “Al-Muhammadawi received at the command headquarters Lieutenant General Pierre Schell, Commander of the Staff of the French Land Forces, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Commander of the Land Forces and officers of the Command Staff.”

The statement added, “The two sides discussed joint French-Iraqi cooperation and coordination in the fields of training, consultation, and developing combat preparations in light of the efforts made by France in building the Iraqi Sahrawi forces and the forces of the Counter-Terrorism Service.”

In turn, Al-Muhammadawi stressed that “the Iraqi security forces have made important strides in strengthening their own capabilities, reaching a qualitative level in combat readiness, and fighting major battles that confirmed their superiority, and recorded superiority in the field in confronting terrorism.”

In turn, the Chief of Staff of the French Ground Forces praised “the great development witnessed by the Iraqi security forces, their continued field victories against terrorism and the spread of security and stability throughout the country.”

The statement continued, “At the end of the meeting, Al-Muhammadawi thanked the French forces who stood alongside the security forces to reinforce Iraq’s victories over the defeated terrorist elements.”
