Iloilo City and province authorities have seized over ₱68.8 million worth of illegal drugs in anti-drug operations during January and the recent Dinagyang festival week, resulting in the arrest of 150 suspects.
Iloilo Drug Seizures Surge
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) reported seizing more than ₱60.6 million worth of illegal drugs in various operations across Western Visayas in January. A total of 137 drug suspects were arrested during this period, according to PRO6 top cop PBGen Josefino D. Ligan.
Recent operations during the Dinagyang week resulted in the seizure of over ₱8.6 million worth of illegal drugs. Iloilo City police also conducted a drug bust in La Paz, seizing ₱578,000 worth of shabu.
In a separate incident in the town of Leganes, Iloilo, two drug suspects were caught with ₱7.5 million worth of shabu. Authorities continue to boost narcotics detection training to combat the illegal drug trade.
