Singaporean authorities seized over $38,000 worth of drugs and arrested 99 suspected drug offenders during an islandwide operation conducted from February 2 to 6.
Drug Seizures in Islandwide Operation
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 210g of cannabis, 146g of heroin, 80g of Ice, 7g of ketamine, 100 Tapentadol tablets, 11 Ecstasy tablets, a small amount of New Psychoactive Substances, a lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) stamp, a bottle of methadone, and numerous vape-related products including 75 e-vaporiser pods believed to contain etomidate. Cash amounting to $7,075.35 was also seized.
Arrests in Multiple Locations
The operation covered areas including Ang Mo Kio, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong, Marine Parade, Marsiling and Sembawang. On February 3, a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested in Tengah after officers forced entry into their residential unit when they refused access. A small amount of Ice and drug paraphernalia were seized.
On February 4, a 26-year-old man was arrested in Choa Chu Kang for suspected drug trafficking. Approximately 123g of cannabis, 6g of ketamine, and drug paraphernalia were seized from his bedroom.
Marsiling Raids
On February 5, CNB officers conducted operations in Marsiling, arresting a 63-year-old man for suspected drug abuse and a 65-year-old man for suspected drug trafficking. A small amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia were seized from the 65-year-old man’s flat.
Further operations in Marsiling Road on February 5 led to the arrest of a 52-year-old man for suspected drug abuse. Two other men, aged 60 and 69, were arrested at a separate unit for suspected drug trafficking and suspected drug abuse, respectively. Approximately 15g of heroin, 12g of Ice, drug paraphernalia, and $6,626.60 in cash were seized at this location.
Investigations into the activities of all arrested suspects are ongoing.
