Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the nation in a New Year’s message, emphasizing the importance of the “Taza Qazaqstan” (Clean Kazakhstan) project and outlining priorities for the coming year, including a focus on volunteerism and national unity.
Taza Qazaqstan and National Prosperity
Tokayev stressed the national significance of the Taza Qazaqstan project, stating the goal to make cities and villages clean, green, and comfortable for all citizens. He framed this as the best contribution to the country’s prosperity in the year marking the 35th anniversary of Independence. “We will mark this historic milestone not with words, but with concrete and tangible deeds,” he said.
International Collaboration and Volunteerism
The President highlighted Kazakhstan’s continued commitment to a constructive foreign policy based on international law and national interests. He also noted that, at Kazakhstan’s proposal, the United Nations has declared 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers, recognizing the values of solidarity and compassion inherent in the international volunteer movement and within the Kazakh people.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Tokayev described the coming year as one of important changes, emphasizing that success will depend on the collective efforts of the nation. “We must work persistently so that in 2026 our country achieves new successes for the benefit of the people,” he stated.
Gratitude to Workers and a Message to Youth
The President extended special greetings to those working on New Year’s Day, acknowledging their devotion to their professions and responsibility to society. He expressed gratitude to all who contribute to the country’s prosperity, stating, “Indeed, there is truly no greater happiness than serving one’s native land.” He also addressed the youth and children, encouraging them to believe in their abilities and embrace hard work and education, referencing the words of Abai: “Believe in yourself, and you will surely achieve success, for labor and intellect will become your unshakable supports.”
Tokayev concluded his address with wishes for good health, happiness, and success for all citizens of Kazakhstan, and for the continued prosperity and strength of the nation. He expressed hope for a future filled with kindness, harmony, and joy, and for the Blue Flag of Kazakhstan to continue flying proudly.
