Two people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle crash in the Waikato region on Sunday morning, prompting the closure of a section of state highway.
Waikato Crash Injures Two
Police responded to the crash at the Ōhaupō Rd/Ryburn Rd intersection, south of Hamilton, at approximately 9:15 a.m. Sunday.
St John Ambulance reported that three ambulances and a rapid response unit were dispatched to the scene.
“Two patients, one in critical condition and one in serious condition, are being transported to Waikato Hospital,” a St John spokesperson said.
Motorists are advised to expect delays while emergency services work at the crash site. Diversions are currently in place around the intersection.
