Student care operator Little Professors under investigation over unpaid wages, ‘anomalies’ in fee deductions

SINGAPORE — Police and the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) are investigating student care operator Little Professors Learning Centre following reports of unpaid salaries to 54 employees and double-charging of parents’ fees.

Little Professors Learning Centre Under Investigation

Several parents also reported being double-charged for student care fees. Little Professors operates student care centres in eight primary schools: Anchor Green, Jing Shan, Kranji, Punggol Cove, Waterway, Westwood, Hong Wen and White Sands. The company also provides Kindergarten Care (KCare) services for MOE Kindergartens in six of these schools.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) stated that operational issues, including the non-payment of salaries, surfaced last week and that the company director became uncontactable. This resulted in insufficient staffing at the eight affected student care centres.

On Friday, February 13, 2026, schools received reports from parents regarding anomalies in GIRO deductions made by the operator. MOE terminated Little Professors’ service for the eight schools on Saturday, February 14, 2026, and filed a police report regarding the questionable GIRO transactions. Police investigations are ongoing.

MOE has been working with the schools to ensure continued after-school care support, including meals and homework supervision, at no cost to affected parents. Ministry staff are contacting parents over the weekend to provide updates on interim arrangements.

One affected parent reported being double-charged S$469.20 for one child on February 2 and February 12, instead of the usual monthly fee.

CPF Board Action

The CPF Board detected outstanding contributions in December 2025, and nineteen affected employees filed reports. Prosecution action has been taken against Little Professors Learning Centre for these outstanding contributions, and the case is currently before the courts.

MOM is investigating Little Professors Learning Centre for potential violations of the Employment Act. MOM, the CPF Board, and the Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) will continue to assist employees in recovering salary and CPF arrears.

Employees who have not received their salaries can file claims with TADM for mediation or referral to the Employment Claims Tribunals.

The Education Services Union (ESU) and the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) are assisting affected members by assessing their eligibility for short-term financial relief and job referrals. Little Professors Learning Centre is a non-unionised company.

Affected workers can access career guidance and job matching support through NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute. Jobseekers participating in e2i’s job search activities may be eligible for temporary financial support of up to S$6,000 over six months through the SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support scheme.

Investigations by the police are ongoing.
