A body has been found in the search for a kayaker who went missing near Auckland’s Waiwera this morning.
Kayaker Found Dead Near Waiwera
Emergency services were notified of a man missing in the water after falling from his kayak around 7:35 a.m.
The search effort involved Police, including the maritime unit aboard Deodar and the Police Eagle, Surf Lifesaving New Zealand, and volunteers from Hibiscus Coastguard.
Police reported the man was found dead early this afternoon.
“Police are providing support to his family at this difficult time,” police said.
The death will be referred to the coroner.
