Punjab schools to reopen full-time from April 1

Educational institutions across Punjab will reopen fully from April 1, operating on a five-day week schedule, according to provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

Punjab Schools to Reopen with Full Schedule

The minister emphasized that a hybrid system of opening schools for only three or four days a week will not be permitted. The decision aims to normalize the academic routine and provide students with consistent access to in-person learning.

Monitoring of 246 matriculation examination centers is currently underway using CCTV cameras to ensure proper oversight during testing. This measure is intended to maintain the integrity of the examination process.

Adjustments are being made to the academic calendar to ensure students preparing for future exams have adequate time for preparation. The minister acknowledged the challenges of maintaining student attention during online classes but stressed the importance of focusing on lectures.

Currently, 70 percent of free textbooks have been distributed to students across all districts of Punjab, providing necessary learning resources.
