Joe Chen’s Anti-Aging Secret: Organ Meats & Grapefruit Diet

Taiwanese actress Joe Chen, known as the “Queen of Idol Dramas,” has shared the specific dietary and wellness habits she credits for maintaining a youthful appearance at age 47.

  • Daily consumption of unsweetened soy milk and organ meats for skin elasticity.
  • A strict 12-day grapefruit-based cycle for weight management.
  • Utilization of cosmetic acupuncture and hot bath therapy for physical maintenance.

Nutritional Approach to Skin Health

To combat breakouts and support collagen production, Chen drinks soy milk daily. She recommends choosing low-sugar or unsweetened varieties to help manage calorie intake and maintain a healthy figure.

Chen also incorporates animal organ meats into her diet. She credits pig intestines, which are high in collagen, and pig brains, containing phospholipids, with contributing to her youthful looks.

Additionally, she notes that iron-rich organ meats can improve circulation and provide a rosy complexion, particularly for individuals prone to anemia.

The Grapefruit Diet Regimen

For weight management, Chen follows a grapefruit-based diet where she consumes half a grapefruit or a glass of grapefruit juice with every meal while eliminating starches.

This regimen is followed for 12 consecutive days, followed by a two-day break before the cycle repeats. Chen stated this plan once helped her lose 3 kilograms in six days.

The fruit contains naringin, a compound that may support metabolism and stabilize blood sugar levels, making it a low-calorie alternative to carbohydrates.

Therapeutic Wellness Practices

Chen utilizes cosmetic acupuncture to firm facial muscles and relieve shoulder and neck pain. The treatment is also used to reduce the appearance of a “dowager’s hump.”

Practitioners state that this technique stimulates circulation to improve skin tone, minimize pores, and create a lifting effect on the face.

The actress also employs hot baths to induce sweating and relax muscles. While this may help reduce water retention and improve circulation, experts caution that prolonged hot baths may not be suitable for those with diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

Chen rose to international fame through leading roles in hit series including “The Prince Who Turns Into a Frog,” “Fated to Love You,” and “The Queen of SOP.”
