Takioto’s Path to the 2026 Championship
The comedy competition Asahi Beer Smadori Double Impact 2026, broadcast on July 20, 2026, across Nippon Television and Yomiuri Television, concluded with Takioto standing as the second-ever champions. The duo, consisting of Sasuke, 36, and Ryotaro Akisada, 38, navigated a massive field of 2,896 entrants to claim the title and the prize money.
Takioto has built a reputation for versatility since forming in 2016. Their track record includes reaching the finals of King of Conte 2020 and winning the literary award at the 7th Kamigata Manzai Association Awards in 2022. Their performance in the 2026 tournament demonstrated this “dual-wielding” ability to master both manzai and conte, a requirement set by the event organizers.
Final Stage Scoring and Competition Results
The competition was intense, requiring participants to demonstrate high-level skills in two distinct comedic formats. In the first stage, Takioto set a strong pace by scoring 475 points as the top batter. Other notable performers included Danbirucho, who scored 470 points; Kaerutei with 469 points; Biscuit Brothers with 464 points; and Dondecorte, who earned 461 points.
The final stage saw a shift in momentum. Dondecorte, serving as the first performer in the final, delivered a manzai routine that earned 482 points, resulting in a total score of 943. Takioto, performing last, countered with a conte routine that scored 476 points. This final effort brought their total score to 951, narrowly securing them the championship title.
The Evolution of the Double Impact Tournament
Established in 2025 by Nippon Television and Yomiuri Television, the Double Impact tournament was created to identify comedians who excel in the “dual-wielding” of both manzai and conte. The inaugural champion was Nippon no Shacho, representing Yoshimoto Kogyo.
