On the night of July 21, the company’s logistics center in Krasnodar sustained a major hit, resulting in a large-scale fire that was visible in numerous social media posts and videos. According to local reporting, the attack in Krasnodar also damaged a truck parking area and nearby residential buildings. Simultaneously, a separate Wildberries facility in Nevinnomysky, located in the Stavropol region, was struck by drones, triggering a massive blaze.
These incidents mark a broader pattern of pressure on the company’s logistics chain; reports indicate that Wildberries infrastructure has been targeted four times in recent days. This follows a significant fire at a Wildberries warehouse near Moscow on July 18, where flames were visible from several dozen kilometers away. During that same period, drones also targeted other infrastructure in the Moscow region, including an oil depot in Noginsk, with additional explosions reported in the Tver and Vladimir regions. In the city of Armavir, local Telegram channels reported that an oil depot was also attacked, resulting in a fire.

Beyond the logistics hubs in southern Russia, the strikes significantly impacted the energy grid in occupied Crimea. Monitoring channels reported that electrical infrastructure was a primary target for the overnight drone campaign. The Telegram channel “Supernova Plus” reported that Ukrainian drones struck two electrical substations in Masandra and the nearby city of Yalta, causing widespread power supply interruptions. Similar outages were documented in the city of Alushta in southern Crimea, as reported by the channel Exilenova Plus.
While these reports circulated widely via monitoring channels, the Kyiv Independent noted that it could not immediately verify all specific details of these strikes.

Diplomatic Maneuvering at the ASEAN Summit
While military operations intensified, diplomatic activity remains ongoing. In Manila, where the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit is currently underway, there are discussions regarding a potential meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that while typical diplomatic communications are technical in nature, Russia would welcome a meeting at the ministerial level, noting, However, if a meeting at the level of heads of diplomacy were to take place, we would certainly welcome it.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed that officials are working to arrange a session between the two diplomats on the sidelines of the conference. Rubio, who arrived in the Philippines and is scheduled to remain there until June 23, expressed an openness to such a discussion, stating, However, we would be open to a meeting. This comes at a time when formal negotiations between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia regarding the war have largely stalled in recent months.

Operational Context and Strategic Attrition
The strikes on logistics and energy targets align with a broader Ukrainian strategy aimed at degrading Russia’s capacity to sustain military operations. In an update regarding the first half of 2026, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that Ukraine has been systematically targeting Russian infrastructure. Syrskyi stated that over the first six months of 2026, Ukraine utilized long-range capabilities to strike 697 targets within Russian territory, resulting in direct and indirect economic losses.

General Syrskyi emphasized that the Russian military’s pace of advance has slowed by more than half, despite the enemy having nearly twice the number of troops and equipment. While stating that Russia loses a significant number of personnel per month—including both killed and wounded—Syrskyi warned against underestimating the adversary. He noted that Russia has not abandoned its plans to occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions and continues to seek the expansion of offensive operations in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. As the intensity of missile and drone strikes—as well as the use of guided aerial bombs—increases, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are focused on strengthening their capacity to force the Kremlin to agree to a just peace on our terms.
