The system is currently tracking westward at a speed of roughly 20 km/h. Environmental conditions are expected to favor explosive growth over the coming days. Forecasters project that Dolphin will reach typhoon strength and rapidly escalate into a super typhoon with peak winds expected to reach 260 km/h.
