CHAGEE has introduced a limited-edition beverage, Apple English Breakfast Tea, as part of a partnership with Tate, one of the United Kingdom’s most respected cultural institutions. The launch, which began on 3 July 2026, brings a new flavor and an exclusive merchandise collection to select Asia Pacific markets, including Alvinology, Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
A Blend of Global Tea Traditions
The Apple English Breakfast Tea is designed as a tribute to two enduring historical symbols: tea and apples. According to CHAGEE, tea originated in China thousands of years ago and evolved into a global daily ritual, while apples have been cultivated for millennia across Asia and Europe and frequently appear in Western art.
The beverage features a base crafted from five distinct teas sourced from India and Asia:
- Assam (India): Provides a malty, full-bodied foundation.
- Lapsang Souchong (Wuyishan, Fujian): Contributes signature pine-smoked notes.
- Yunnan Golden Pekoe: Adds a rich, velvety smoothness.
- Four Seasons Spring (Taiwan): Introduces floral smoothness.
- Highland Qilan (Fujian): Provides a lingering orchid aroma.
Each tea is roasted and processed individually before being blended under carefully controlled temperature and humidity. To incorporate the apple flavor, CHAGEE uses Red Fuji apples from Shandong, China. These undergo a whole-fruit cold extraction process using both the skin and flesh without the addition of sugar, water, or preservatives. The resulting juice is infused into the tea leaves at low temperatures and vacuum-dried to preserve the flavor.
Artistic Inspiration and Merchandise
The collaboration extends into a limited-edition merchandise collection inspired by three still-life masterpieces from the Tate collection. These artworks are featured on beverage cups, insulated takeaway carrier bags, and other collectible items:

- A Plate of Apples (1861) by Henri Fantin-Latour: Noted for its naturalistic precision and meticulous attention to detail.
- Still Life with Water Jug (circa 1892 to 1893) by Paul Cézanne: A study of form and perception that experiments with multiple viewpoints.
- The Basket of Fruit (1925) by Mark Gertler: A work reflecting early 20th-century British artistic currents through bold, expressive style and vibrant color.
Rosey Blackmore, Director of Licensing and Merchandising at Tate, stated that the partnership enables CHAGEE to create a range that brings together art, design, and everyday rituals,
allowing audiences to discover these artworks in a new cultural context.
Cultural Impact and Conservation
The partnership is described as a way to celebrate the journey of culture through food and beverages. Mathurada Yongchareon, Director of Marketing for CHAGEE Thailand, noted that the tea reflects a commitment to cultural fusion. Similarly, Adinda Yozari, General Manager of CHAGEE Indonesia, said that the brand wanted to create something that resonates across different countries and cultures.
Beyond the commercial release, the one-year partnership includes a commitment to support the museum’s Paper and Photography Conservation Work, assisting in the preservation of Tate’s national collection for future generations.
Regional Availability and Activations
In Singapore, the Apple English Breakfast Tea is available at all outlets and via the CHAGEE app. To mark the launch, CHAGEE Singapore hosted a campaign activation at VivoCity from 3 to 12 July, featuring a themed photobooth with ornate gold frames and the opportunity for visitors to win exclusive merchandise from the collection.
