Operations focused specifically on Jalan Kuala Balai and Jalan Pandan 5, where officials mobilized to crack down on unlawful activities. The sweep brought together a broad coalition of government bodies designed to tackle everything from immigration infractions to vice and smuggling.
Commanding the ground deployment was District Criminal Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohd ‘Izzuddin Hanis Md Salleh. Under his leadership, the operation integrated personnel from multiple specialized divisions to ensure a thorough sweep of the targeted commercial and residential corridors.
Multi-Agency Coordination Uncovers Drugs and Contraband
The joint intervention leveraged the specific jurisdictions of several distinct government entities working in unison. Agencies participating in the Belait District deployment included the Religious Enforcement Division, Immigration and National Registration Department, Internal Security Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
That cross-agency cooperation yielded immediate enforcement actions on the ground. Personnel from the Narcotics Control Bureau detained two men suspected of involvement in drug-related offenses. Simultaneously, customs inspectors uncovered a separate stream of illicit goods during their inspections.
Customs Infractions Target Smuggled Cigarettes and Vape Devices
The Royal Customs and Excise Department bore a heavy share of the day’s discoveries, logging numerous violations tied to unregulated goods. Inspectors identified 14 distinct offences during the operation, pointing to widespread illegal distribution channels operating within the district.
Those infractions implicated 12 individuals believed to be in possession of contrabands. The seized items included 73 packets of cigarettes spanning various brands alongside one vape device, highlighting ongoing local enforcement efforts against untaxed and restricted consumer goods.

The Royal Brunei Police Force announced plans to continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with enforcement agencies in combating unlawful activities across the nation.
