/ A French frigate shot down two drones in the Red Sea that were heading towards it from the coast of Yemen, as the French Armed Forces Chief of Staff announced on Sunday morning.

The authority said in a statement that the multi-mission frigate “Languedoc” operating in the Red Sea “intercepted and destroyed these two threats” on Saturday night and Sunday.

On Saturday, the Houthi militia announced a ban on the passage of all ships heading to Israel, warning all shipping companies against cooperating with Israel.

The military spokesman for the Houthis said: “After the forces succeeded in imposing their decision to prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Red and Arab Bahrain, and as a result of the Zionist enemy’s continuation of committing horrific massacres, genocidal war, and the siege against our brothers in Gaza, the forces announce preventing the passage of ships heading to the entity.” If a Zionist of any nationality does not enter the Gaza Strip, the food and medicine he needs will become a legitimate target for our armed forces.”

He added, “Out of concern for the safety of maritime navigation, we warn all ships and companies against dealing with Israeli ports.”

He continued in a statement, “The forces confirm their full commitment to the continuation of global trade movement through the Red and Arabian Seas for all ships and all countries except for ships linked to Israel, or that will transport goods to Israeli ports.”

He concluded by saying, “The forces will implement this decision from the moment this statement is announced.”

The Houthi warning comes at a time when the United States of America is seeking to establish an international force to protect navigation in the Red Sea.

A Pentagon official explained, “Washington is seeking 40 countries to join the international force to protect navigation in the Red Sea.”

He added: “The international force to be formed to protect navigation in the Red Sea will include an area of 3 million miles of international waters.”
