Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, targeted the central government in New Delhi on October 6, 2026, alleging that the push for “One Nation, One Election” serves to establish “one nation, one political party” rather than functioning as a genuine reform, The Times of India reported. The remarks arrived as thousands of youth protesters and opposition supporters rallied across Delhi and Mumbai to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over voter roll deletions, according to Reuters.
Police Notices Target CJP Workers Ahead of Delhi Protests
During a press conference in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dipke criticized law enforcement actions directed at members of his organization ahead of a planned October 10 agitation at Jantar Mantar. He stated that workers in Chandrapur received police notices instructing them to stay away from the demonstrations and demanding explanations for their travel funding. I have said multiple times that the Maharashtra Police is the best police force in the country, and the Delhi Police should learn from them.
But it is heartbreaking that the Chandrapur police served notices to CJP workers, telling them not to participate in the agitation at Jantar Mantar.

Dipke questioned how authorities could predict violence before any gathering takes place or penalize individuals for purchasing standard railway tickets. We speak about (Mahatma) Gandhi and B R Ambedkar. Do they think it is violent?
Dipke asked, highlighting directives that barred activists from sharing social media posts about the event.
Escalating Demonstrations and Arrest Warnings in the Capital
Protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar intensified across major urban centers, with demonstrators clashing with police barricades in Delhi and Mumbai. Reuters reported that police detained protesters for a third consecutive day, while opposition parties prepared for a dedicated march. Amid the growing unrest, CJP co-convener Saurav Das claimed at a press briefing that internal warnings indicated leaders might face detention before the October 10 mobilization. Well wishers have informed us that meetings are taking place and there is a high possibility that CJP leaders could be arrested,
Das stated. It does not matter if we are arrested or detained because this fight is about the young generation.
Das framed the upcoming demonstration as an autonomous movement driven by Generation Z rather than any single political faction. You should not consider the call for protests on October 10 as our call or someone else’s call. This is the call by the youth and Gen Z. We are one part of that,
he explained, adding that Jantar Mantar remains a symbolic gathering point regardless of police blockades.
Alliances and Political Friction Within the Opposition
The mobilization has exposed underlying tensions among opposition members and activists. While parties like the Aam Aadmi Party have voiced support for the CJP’s street campaigns, certain factions within the Congress have exhibited caution regarding the rapid rise of the new youth-oriented formation. Meanwhile, street-level confrontations continue to draw heavy public participation, with thousands registering opinions and sharing updates across digital platforms as the scheduled October 10 rally approaches.
