Supporters of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan staged a sit-in protest outside Adiala Jail after being denied a meeting with him. The protest was led by Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, and other PTI party members.

Imran Khan Meeting Denied, Protests Erupt

Aleema Khan and other members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party were stopped at a factory checkpost by police while attempting to visit Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, according to reports. Following the denial of access, they initiated a sit-in protest outside the jail premises.

The situation has caused a political storm in Pakistan, with concerns raised about the former prime minister’s access to legal counsel and family. Khan recently launched a scathing attack on Army Chief Asim Munir, calling him a “mentally unstable man.”

Authorities have warned of potential restrictions on PTI meetings in response to the ongoing protests and political tensions. Tarar, a government official, indicated that measures may be taken to limit gatherings organized by the party.

The denial of the meeting and subsequent protests come amid a period of heightened political activity and scrutiny surrounding Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated. The PTI continues to demand access to their leader and raise concerns about his well-being.
