Apple TV Unveils First Neuromancer Teaser Trailer at Comic-Con

Based on William Gibson’s 1984 foundational novel, the 10-episode adaptation starring Callum Turner and Briana Middleton is set to premiere on January 22, 2027.

William Gibson’s Cyberpunk Landmark Arrives on Screen

More than four decades after its publication, William Gibson’s seminal 1984 novel is finally making the jump to television. Apple TV delivered a major surprise at San Diego Comic-Con when actor Callum Turner appeared via video in Hall H to introduce the first look at the ambitious adaptation. The project represents the first time the multi-award-winning book—which claimed the Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick awards—has ever been adapted for film or television, despite numerous attempts over the years.

Created for television by showrunner Graham Roland and director JD Dillard, the series has drawn intense anticipation from science fiction fans. The streaming platform spent the necessary dollars to do the series right, crafting vast futuristic cityscapes, retro-futuristic cybernetic hookups, and stark cosmic vistas that capture the bleak, prophetic atmosphere of Gibson’s original vision.

Beneath the atmospheric visuals, the narrative puts its central duo directly into the crosshairs of a corporate empire. Official log lines confirm that the 10-episode series follows a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case (Turner) who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime with his partner Molly (Middleton), a razor-girl assassin, as they pull off a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.

A Stacked Ensemble Cast and Precise Release Schedule

Beyond its lead actors, Apple has assembled an expansive supporting roster for the cyberpunk epic. Alongside Turner and Middleton, the main cast features Mark Strong as Armitage, Joseph Lee as the dangerous bodyguard Hideo, Peter Sarsgaard as John Ashpool, and Clémence Poésy. The call sheet also includes Emma Laird as Linda Lee, alongside Max Irons, Dane DeHaan, Junia Rees, Jordan Kouamé, Marc Menchaca, André De Shields, and Isabella Pappas.

The production brings together heavy-hitting creative forces behind the camera as well. Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content are producing the series. Graham Roland serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside JD Dillard, who directs the first three episodes. Additional executive producers include David Levine, Garrett Kemble, and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content; Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham, Adel ‘Future’ Nur, and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; alongside Jennifer Haley and William Gibson.

What Comes Next on the Calendar for Apple TV

Viewers won’t have to wait much longer for the series to debut, though the rollout follows a staggered weekly schedule. The first episode will premiere on January 22, 2027, with weekly installments dropping through Friday, March 19, 2027.
