Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has accused the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala of betraying Lord Ayyappa and engaging in state-sponsored gold smuggling during campaign rallies ahead of the state’s assembly elections.

Rajnath Singh’s Allegations in Kerala

Singh alleged that the LDF government betrayed devotees of Lord Ayyappa for “a few pieces of gold,” referring to the Sabarimala temple issue. He further claimed that state-sponsored gold smuggling occurred in 2020, with individuals close to the Kerala Chief Minister allegedly involved.

Addressing a poll rally, Singh also accused both the LDF and the United Democratic Front (UDF) of “deceiving” the people of Kerala for decades. He stated that the people of Kerala have been deceived by both fronts for a long time.

Singh has been actively campaigning for the upcoming Kerala assembly polls, with recent activities including rallies and public appearances.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed a rally in Assam as part of the ongoing election campaigns.
