The incident began when officers attempted to identify the occupants of a hatchback. According to police, the suspects sped off and opened fire on the officers, who returned fire and initiated a chase.

Several blocks later, at least two armed adults abandoned the vehicle, a Fiat Uno Van Fire, and fled on foot. Officers discovered the body of Uriel Alejandro Giménez inside, along with spent shell casings.

Paramedics confirmed that Giménez died from gunshot wounds, including a shot to the chest, in Tres de Febrero, on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. The incident took place in the early hours of January 20.

The case has been classified as “homicide aggravated by the use of a firearm,” and one police officer has been formally charged. Authorities are continuing to search for the men who escaped after the shooting.

Uriel regularly posted photos on social media posing with motorcycles and firearms. One image showed him wearing a T-shirt featuring a boy who died during a robbery attempt in Remedios de Escalada in October 2025.

Judicial sources confirmed that Uriel had a prior record, having been booked at a local police station on October 27, 2025, for covering up a crime. He was laid to rest in Tres de Febrero on January 21.

His sister, Kiara, paid tribute online, stating, “Only you and I know what we went through together. I hope you’ve found your peace, my dear brother. I love you with all my heart. My dear brother, you’ve left me shattered. Rest in peace.”
