Prosecutors alleged that Brown approached the victim, identified as Abraham Diaw, on the dancefloor and struck him twice over the head with a tequila bottle.

The assault reportedly continued as the victim attempted to move away from the initial site of the conflict. According to the CPS statement, Akinlolu joined the altercation by punching the victim, who was later kicked while seated on the floor. Following the incident, the victim was treated at St Mary’s Hospital for injuries to his head and knees.

Brown’s legal journey in the U.K. involved significant bail hurdles. Following the 2023 incident, Brown and Akinlolu left the country, but authorities issued an arrest warrant. Brown was eventually arrested on May 15, 2025, after returning to Britain for a concert in Manchester.
