Construction and housing determine the completion rates for a road linking two governorates

The Department of Roads and Bridges, one of the departments of the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, confirmed today, Sunday, the continuation of the implementation of the project to rehabilitate the highway between Baghdad and Hilla.

A statement from the Ministry, a copy of which was received by the (INA), stated that “the department is still continuing to implement the project to rehabilitate the highway between Baghdad and Hilla No. (1), Part 4.”
He added, “The total length of the road section is 210 km for the two-way and back lanes, 105 km for each lane and its width is 16 m. It extends from the West Baghdad intersection to the Hilla-Kish intersection, of which 10 km have been completed, while cracks have been scraped and treated for about 38 km.”
He pointed out that “the work on the project includes scraping and covering with a surface layer treated for the durability of the road, in addition to rehabilitating the central island, cleaning the tubular and box arches, and constructing a protective fence along the road, in addition to furnishing and planning work with thermal reflective dyes.”
