John Lawlor of Castleblakeney, County Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully at Portiuncula University Hospital on January 5, 2026.
Obituary
Lawlor was predeceased by his wife, Maureen, infant daughter Ellen, grandson Proinsias, and brothers Des, Willie, and Jimmy.
He is survived by his daughters Kathleen Nolan (Lehenagh), Mary Shaughnessy (Ballygar), and Patricia Burke (Miltown); sons Seamus (Ballygar), Sean (Rabane), Dermot (Castleblakeney), and Oliver (Dublin); sons-in-law Frank, Paraic, and Mickie; daughters-in-law Tina, Maureen, Una, and Siobhan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Tim, Noel, and Danny; and sisters Helen and Mai, as well as a wide circle of relatives, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing will take place at Caltra Community Centre (H53E5C9) on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A Requiem Mass will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Caltra, at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed via live stream.
Messages of comfort and support can be left in the “Condolences” section. The family has expressed their gratitude for support during this time.
