Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon surveyed the burning Navotas Sanitary Landfill in Navotas City on Tuesday to coordinate relief efforts and evaluate technical assistance from Japan.

Secretary Dizon was accompanied by a technical group from the Japan Disaster Relief Team during the visit to Barangay Tanza 2. The delegation included Japanese Ambassador Kazuyo Endo, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna, and Navotas Mayor John Rey Tiangco.
The group examined ongoing operations to extinguish the blaze and determined how the Japanese technical team may provide assistance to the government.
