International Consortia and Advanced Engineering Teams

The massive infrastructure undertaking is backed by a consortium comprising Mapa, Limak, and CRRC, which secured a contract valued at 20.5 billion dirhams. Turkish engineering prowess heavily influences the project’s execution. Teams have integrated indigenous software solutions such as ISETIA PMIS—developed locally by Turkish engineers—to oversee project management and monitor adherence to strict quality and scheduling standards. Additional technical expertise comes from SYSTRA Turkey, which contributes planning and design oversight, while Parsons Corporation serves as the project management consultant to ensure seamless coordination across all participating stakeholders.

Architectural Milestones and Global Scale

Upon full completion, the Blue Line will span 131 kilometers and incorporate 78 strategically placed stations. Among these, the Emaar Properties Station is engineered to become the tallest metro station globally, rising 74 meters. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the station combines aesthetic appeal with functional design. Another striking structural element is a 1.3-kilometer bridge spanning Dubai Creek, built as a deck-over visual icon celebrating the city’s focus on innovative urban architecture.

Network Integration and Future Passenger Capacity

The new line bridges existing Red and Green lines to form a unified multi-modal transit ecosystem. The route is divided into two primary corridors: a 21-kilometer stretch from Al Jaddaf to Academic City featuring numerous connecting stations, and a 9-kilometer route connecting Centerpoint station to International City. With 14 transfer stations designed to smooth passenger flow, the network will support up to 350,000 passengers daily, easing roadway congestion and bolstering long-term municipal sustainability goals.
