Egypt Releases 2025/2026 Thanaweya Amma Results With 75.1% Pass Rate

Egypt’s Ministry of Education released the official results for the Thanaweya Amma national high school examinations for the 2025/2026 academic year. The announcement brought nationwide attention to top scorers in the science and mathematics divisions, detailing distinct paths of disciplined preparation, family support, and rigorous daily study.

Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif Announces Overall Pass Rates

Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif officially approved the first-term Thanaweya Amma results on a Tuesday evening covering both the new and old examination systems. Across the new system, the overall pass rate reached 75.1%, while the old system recorded 72.1%.

The ministry reported that 883,690 students registered for the new system examinations, with 825,867 attending and 620,314 successfully passing.

• Scientific Science (New System): 543,120 registered, 507,415 attended, and 382,720 passed, yielding a 75.4% pass rate.
• Scientific Mathematics (New System): 145,459 registered, 139,302 attended, and 113,651 passed, achieving an 81.6% pass rate.
• Literary Track (New System): 195,111 registered, 179,150 attended, and 123,943 passed, resulting in a 69.2% pass rate.
• Old System: The old system recorded an overall pass rate of 72.1%, with the scientific science branch registering 74.5%.

Hasnaa Amr Saad Ranks First in Nationwide Scientific Mathematics

Leading the nationwide rankings in the scientific mathematics division is Hasnaa Amr Saad Ahmed Mahrous from Al-Hawamdiya Girls Secondary School, who secured first place across the republic with a total score of 319.5.

Hasnaa credited her achievement to consistent organization, a steady study plan established at the start of the academic year, and the continuous support of her parents, stating, Papa and Mama were always cheering me on and supporting me, and they had a big role in reaching where I am today. She noted that she completed the memorization of the Quran by her first year of secondary school, viewing divine guidance and the memorization of the Book of God as the greatest secret behind her success and excellence, while expressing her dream of joining the Faculty of Engineering.

I was always praying to God to be among the top students, and thank God the prayer came true, and my joy at the result is indescribable.

Mohamed Yasser Ali Marhi Navigates the Arabic Exam Challenge

In Monufia Governorate, student Mohamed Yasser Ali Marhi—also referred to in sources as Mohamed Yasser Ali Mohamed, from Toukh Tanbsha village in Berket El Sabea center—earned the fifth position nationwide in the scientific mathematics division. While general examinations aligned with the level of diligent students, Mohamed singled out the Arabic language test as his most demanding obstacle, noting that the texts and free reading section caused him anxiety throughout the exam period.

The most difficult subject I faced was the Arabic language, specifically the poetry texts and free reading section, but thanks to God and His success, I got grades in it much higher than I expected after leaving the committees.

Mohamed maintained a routine of studying for roughly eight hours daily, balancing focused academic periods with adequate rest and prioritizing self-confidence and discipline. He learned of his fifth-place finish when an extended family member contacted his household, prompting emotional celebrations where his mother could not hold back her tears of joy.

Across multiple high-ranking profiles, family involvement emerged as a shared pillar. Mohamed Yasser credited his mother for tracking his academic progress step-by-step and developing his level since childhood. Similarly, the mother of Abdulrahman Hassan Karim—who secured the third place ex aequo on the republic level in the scientific mathematics division for the 2026 Thanaweya Amma—expressed immense joy, stating in special remarks to Al-Shorouk: Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and by God, praise be to God, God does not waste anyone’s effort, and all success is from God.

Abdulrahman’s mother added that her son maintained regular habits, excelled throughout his school years, kept up significantly with his prayers, and balanced his time evenly rather than studying day and night or relying on staying up late. With national results finalized and top honors distributed, these students now turn their focus toward higher education, with Hasnaa, Mohamed, and Abdulrahman each aiming to enroll in faculties of engineering.
