Explora Journeys is experiencing strong demand for its inaugural world cruise, set to depart in 2029, with reservations opening just two weeks ago. The 128-night voyage from Dubai to Barcelona will mark the cruise line’s first visit to Australasian waters.
Explora Journeys World Cruise Sees Robust Interest
The voyage offers three options: a full 128-night journey, a 112-night option ending in New York, and a 108-night option concluding in Miami before EXPLORA I sails to Europe.
Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys, stated the response to the longest-ever voyage has been “very positive, with strong early booking momentum.” Key markets showing significant interest include the US, UK, and France.

More than 50% of bookings received so far are for the full sailing to Barcelona. Nash explained the World Journey was developed in response to requests from past guests, indicating “a little bit of pent up demand.” Demand is also emerging from the Australian market.
EXPLORA I and EXPLORA II recently operated at near capacity during the Mediterranean season. Nash noted the brand’s trade partners have been instrumental in its success, with the Mediterranean season selling out and the Caribbean season nearly sold out.
The increased demand has led to a rise in pricing, with more guests booking higher-level suite categories. “People appreciate the product and the space that we offer. Pricing has gone up in line with the response and the demand that we’re seeing earlier,” Nash said.
The average age of Explora Journeys’ guests is in the mid-50s, and bookings are increasingly made within six months of departure, often driven by guests’ professional schedules.

Currently operating two ships, with EXPLORA III launching in July 2026, Explora Journeys is preparing to open sales for EXPLORA VI in March. The company recently held its third ship launch in 12 months, signaling the start of construction on EXPLORA VI.
