Fife Crash: Passenger Dies, 2 Days After Driver’s Death

A second person has died following a two-car crash in Fife, Scotland. The incident occurred Friday night on the B981, between Cluny and the Chapel junction roundabout.

Fife Car Crash Claims Second Life

Police reported that a 48-year-old woman driving a Volkswagen Polo was pronounced dead at the scene. Three passengers from the Polo were transported to a hospital, where a 64-year-old man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.

One passenger from the Polo remains hospitalized. The driver of the other vehicle involved, a 33-year-old woman operating a Nissan Qashqai, was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.

The 33-year-old woman was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged. The B981 was closed to facilitate investigations and reopened around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Sergeant Louise Birrell stated, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman and man who died.”

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash to contact officers with any information. Individuals with relevant details can contact officers.
