Four young people taken to hospital after reports of ‘fighting’

Four young people were injured during reports of anti-social behaviour in Bangor, Co Down, on Saturday evening.

Police Investigation into Youth Disturbance

Police are currently investigating multiple reports of anti-social behaviour involving a large number of young people in the town. Chief Inspector Hutchinson stated that dedicated resources were deployed throughout Saturday to manage the disturbances.

A report was received at approximately 7:05 p.m. regarding a crowd of youths fighting in the Quay Street area before fleeing toward High Street. Authorities also received reports of large groups of youths congregating at the train station.

Four young people sustained injuries during the evening’s events and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was arrested in the Abbey Street area for breach of bail conditions. He remains in police custody.

Community Response and Patrols

Chief Inspector Hutchinson reassured the local community that police take all reports of anti-social behaviour seriously and recognize the wider impact of such actions. Officers were scheduled to patrol the town on Sunday to provide public reassurance.

The PSNI indicated that police presence will continue over the remainder of the weekend, alongside collaborative work with partner agencies and local representatives to resolve ongoing issues.
