Tokyo, March 13 (Jiji Press) — The presidents of France and Indonesia will visit Japan later this month for talks with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara announced Friday.

Visits of French and Indonesian Presidents to Japan

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to arrive for a three-day visit starting March 29, followed by French President Emmanuel Macron for a subsequent three-day visit beginning March 31. Both presidents will also meet with Emperor Naruhito, Kihara said.

As the current chair of the Group of Seven key democracies, Macron is expected to discuss the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran with Takaichi and reaffirm collaboration with Japan in addressing the intensifying situation and related matters concerning the United States.

“Japan and France are special partners that share fundamental values and principles,” Kihara told a press conference.

Takaichi and Prabowo are expected to discuss expanding security and economic cooperation between their countries, particularly in light of China’s repeated coercive actions in the East and South China Seas.
