Weather warnings are in effect for southern Latvia as very low temperatures are expected overnight from February 15th to 16th. The severity of the warning increases further south.
Southern Latvia Under Cold Weather Alert
An orange warning, indicating danger, is in place for the southernmost districts of Latvia. Temperatures in these areas may drop to minus 27 degrees Celsius as skies clear.
A yellow warning, signifying potential danger, is also active in areas slightly further north. The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) reports that temperatures in these regions will be similar to those under the orange warning.
The weather warning is valid between 22:00 on Sunday and 10:00 on Monday.
