Google Prepares for Pixel 11 Launch: Pricing, Specs, and New AI Features
Google has officially confirmed the August 12 launch of the Pixel 11 series, with the company’s own teaser campaign signaling a heavy emphasis on its next generation of mobile hardware. The event, scheduled for 6pm ET / 3pm PT, will center on the integration of Gemini Intelligence across the new lineup. A landing page on the Google Store currently features the Pixel 11 Pro in a gold colorway, setting the aesthetic tone for the upcoming release.

Leaked Pricing and Storage Configurations
Recent activity on Amazon has provided a comprehensive, if unintended, preview of the Pixel 11 family. An Android Authority reader, Ali Choudary, discovered and shared screenshots of deleted Amazon listings that revealed details for nearly the entire lineup. These listings, which Google has since removed, were identified by internal model numbers: 4CS4 (Pixel 11), CGY4 (Pixel 11 Pro), PKK4 (Pixel 11 Pro XL), and 9YI4 (Pixel 11 Pro Fold).

The leaks confirm that Google is making 256GB the new base storage tier across the Pixel 11 family. The base Pixel 11 is priced at $899 and will be available in Frost, Pistachio, Hibiscus, and Obsidian colors. Droid Life, which also spotted the listings, confirmed a 512GB variant for the base model priced at $1,019. This pricing shift places the entry-level Pixel 11 at $100 more than the $799 starting price of the iPhone 17.
Hardware Adjustments and Memory Constraints
The transition to higher base storage comes alongside potential changes to memory allocation. According to information from the deleted listings, the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL may see a downgrade for their 256GB models compared to the previous generation. While the Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL utilized 16GB of RAM as a standard, the 256GB versions of the Pixel 11 Pro series may be limited to 12GB of RAM. The 512GB and 1TB versions are expected to retain the full 16GB of RAM, likely due to the ongoing tech industry RAM supply crisis.
The Return of Flagship Power in the A-Series
Beyond the flagship models, reports from Mystic Leaks suggest the Pixel 11a will return to using a flagship-grade processor with the Tensor G6. This marks a departure from the Pixel 10a, which shipped with the older Tensor G4, a decision that was viewed as a disappointment by those expecting the modern processor typically found in the a-series. The Tensor G6 is expected to utilize the same PowerVR DXT-48-1536 GPU as the G5, but with significant modem improvements. By moving from Samsung’s Exynos modems to a MediaTek M90 modem, Google aims to address long-standing issues regarding battery drain and dropped signals.

Regarding the Pixel 11a’s physical specifications, it is expected to feature a 6.3-inch 1080 x 2424 display with a variable 60 to 120Hz refresh rate. While the battery capacity is rumored to be slightly smaller at 4,870mAh compared to the previous 5,000mAh, efficiency gains from the Tensor G6 are expected to maintain or improve overall battery life. The device is also slated for a bump to a peak brightness of 3,350 nits.
Pixel Glow and Gemini Intelligence
A notable design inclusion for the new series is “Pixel Glow.” First appearing in the official teaser, this feature replaces the traditional light strip with a circular light positioned to the right of the camera bar. As noted in reports, the light can display a full range of colors and has been compared to the Mac’s Spinning Beach Ball of Death
when the operating system or an application is in a state of a crash.
The August 12 event will focus heavily on Gemini Intelligence, which Google is positioning as a primary differentiator for the new devices. Prospective buyers are encouraged to sign up for emails via the Google Store to receive an exclusive offer, continuing the company’s tradition of promotional incentives during its Made By Google events.
