Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie has affirmed that the Garuda Top School ecosystem is designed to be inclusive, ensuring a transparent selection process to reach top talents from all regions across Indonesia.

Expansion of Garuda Top School Infrastructure
Four new locations are currently under construction to support this year’s new student admissions. These sites are located in East Belitung, South Central Timor District, South Konawe, and Bulungan.
The second phase of student admissions for these new schools has already been completed. The ministry expects the nation’s best students to join in the upcoming academic year.
Looking ahead, the ministry plans to build six additional schools and expand the number of transformed institutions by 2026.
Transformation and National Integration
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology is targeting the transformation of 30 leading schools nationwide into Garuda Transformed Schools by 2026.
Currently, 240 schools from 25 provinces have registered for the selection stage. Final locations will be determined based on evaluation results, regional readiness, and national strategic needs to expand equitable access to quality education.
Global University Preparation
To prepare students for admission to top global universities, the ministry is adding specific supporting elements to the curriculum. This includes preparation for the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
