Before this extension, Wyatt was slated to play the final year of his rookie contract in 2026 at a salary of $12.94 million, following the team’s decision to exercise his fifth-year option last year. Packers News reports that the new deal places Wyatt as the 15th-highest-paid defensive tackle in the NFL, while Heavy.com notes he ranks as the 18th-highest-paid interior defensive lineman in the league.
Injury History and On-Field Production
The Packers’ decision to extend Wyatt comes despite recurring injury issues that have limited his availability. During the 2025 season, Wyatt appeared in 10 games before suffering a season-ending broken fibula and torn ankle ligaments during a Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions. He also missed three games in 2024 due to a knee injury. Despite these setbacks, the team remains confident in his impact.

Wyatt himself has expressed a desire to prove his long-term value.

Community Engagement and Youth Development
Outside of his professional career, Wyatt has focused on his hometown roots in Decatur, Georgia. On Saturday, he hosted his first free youth football camp at Towers High School, where he graduated in 2017.
